I absolutely LOVE when couples choose locations that mean something to them. Stephanie grew up going to her family’s beach house in Newport Beach and Chip grew up with family on Victoria Beach in Laguna. So I was thrilled to photograph them in both locations. We started off cruising around some of the alphabet streets in Newport before heading to Victoria. Hilton Waterfront Wedding: Amanda and Greg

Amanda and Greg tied the knot a couple weeks ago at the beautiful Hilton Waterfront in Huntington Beach. I really loved photographing this happy couple and getting to know them over the past year. Through chatting and meeting with Amanda, we found out we have so many connections- I love how the world can feel so small sometimes! La Canada Engagement: Nikki and Jeremy

I met up with Nikki and Jeremy recently for their engagement session in La Canada. I absolutely loved their ideas for the shoot: we went on a little hike (the same one they took when Jeremy popped the question), then we climbed through a fence for some photos at an old backyard horse stable (a little trespassing never hurts!), and lastly we finished near the home where Jeremy grew up. I love that all the locations have some history and meaning to Nikki and Jeremy. Speaking of history, I have known Nikki since I was born (our mom’s are close friends), so it was a blast photographing such a special friend. Nikki and Jeremy- I am truly looking forward to your big day in June! Lots of love, Allison

Santa Monica Wedding: Vanessa and Matt

Vanessa and Matt tied the knot on a gorgeous March afternoon at the Delfina in Santa Monica. Both the bride and groom got ready in beautiful suites, just a few doors apart, and saw each other for a first look right near the ceremony site. The whole day truly celebrated Vanessa and Matt’s love for each other. Both families flew in from out of state and were so much fun to photograph. Vanessa and Matt, thank you so much for having us capture your big day and I hope you had a blast on your honeymoon is Rio de Janiero! All the best, Allison

Hawaii Dreaming: Kauai and Maui

I was just going through some photos from two somewhat recent trips to Kauai and Maui. My husband and I went to Kauai last July for our honeymoon and then Maui in September to spend some time with our aunt and uncle. I brought my camera along with me and snapped a few images. I pulled them up again because I thought they were too pretty to be sitting on my computer and I’m planning on ordering some wood prints and metal prints for my home. Garden and Golf Engagement: Kris and Anna

Kris and Anna’s engagement session was my first of 2013 since I had the baby and it was so much fun! I loved that they chose two fun and different locations: Cal State Long Beach Japanese Gardens and Golf N’ Stuff (think “Karate Kid”). Special thanks to my high school friend Laura for introducing me to this great couple! Kris and Anna will say “I do” over Memorial Day weekend this year and I look forward to capturing their special day! Enjoy the photos! -Allison

Recharge at Rancho Workshop: Table Details

Last year (wow- time flies!) I attended the Recharge at Rancho Workshop hosted by Barnet Photography. It was a fun, inspiring, and hands-on learning experience for one full day at Rancho Las Lomas. The Barnets had models and wonderful vendors come together in order to create beautiful photographs. Introducing Baby Andrew!

My husband and I are very excited to announce we welcomed our baby boy, Andrew, into the world on January 26, 2013, weighing 8 lbs. 6 oz. and measuring 20 1/2 inches. We are absolutely over the moon and so in love with him! I’ll be sharing more photos of Andrew and I need to keep reminding myself to capture him as much as possible because he is already changing and growing up so fast (and it’s been less than two weeks!) Also, to all my clients and future clients, I’ll be checking email as much as I can and same with phone calls, but if you don’t hear from me right away, I promise I will get back to you as soon as I can. As you can imagine, my hands are a little full right now with this cute little guy. I’m already looking forward to my first wedding of 2013 on March 22 as well as my first engagement shoot of the year the same weekend. Thank you for all of your love and support! Wow! 2012 was an incredible year! I am so fortunate to do what I absolutely love- photograph weddings with fabulous brides and grooms. Even though capturing and documenting a wedding day is so important, I also feel so grateful that I have met so many amazing couples that have developed into friendships. A huge thank you to all of my 2012 brides and grooms- thank you for having me be part of one the most important days in your lives!
