Over 100 of Megan and Will’s closest friends and family joined them last weekend on their big day. It was one the most intimate weddings I have ever photographed. Not because of the amount of guests or size of venue, but because of who was part of their day and the love and appreciation Megan and Will have for each other and everyone else. Also, maybe it was the fact that Megan and Will first met at a party at Cal Tech and first fell in love just outside Dabney Garden, or that Megan and her mom crafted for endless hours to make sure every little detail was perfect, or that Megan’s aunt created the stunning bouquets, or that Will’s aunt made their incredible wedding cake, or that another aunt and uncle played a stand up bass and acoustic guitar during the ceremony and cocktail hour, or that Will’s cousin beautifully painted their wedding sign which will hang in their new garden, or that their Uncle KC officiated the ceremony AND played his bag pipe, or that Will’s grandma Hilda gave a toast to welcome Megan into their family, or that Megan’s dad danced with his daughter so gracefully, and there was so much more involvement from their parents, aunts, uncles, cousins, sisters, brothers, and best friends. Oh and before I get to the photographs, just maybe it’s also the fact Will’s parents were married in the same brick and stone courtyard in Dabney Garden at Cal Tech, underneath the same incredible mature Pasadena trees many years ago. I couldn’t help but soak all of this intimacy and history in while I captured their day. Even though I had only met Megan and Will just one time before for their engagement session, I felt like I had known them most of their life and I hope that every bride and groom can share the love and respect they have for each other. Thank you, Megan and Will, for reminding me why I love being a wedding photographer.

Thank you, Megan and Will, for trusting and allowing me to capture one of the most important days in your lives!
For all the photographers out there that might be interested in this info: I used the 50mm F1.2 lens for the majority of the images, the 70-200mm lens for part of the ceremony and briefly afterwards, the 85mm for a few shots of Megan and Will, and the 16-35mm for just a couple of the venue shots. Also, the only thing I did in photoshop was write “Megan & Will…” on the first photo.
